Manager, Technical Accounting and Compliance (Accounting and Finance)

OurManager, Technical Accounting and Compliancewill primarily be responsible for all technical accounting and reporting matters for the Company. This role will lead the maintenance and improvement of internal controls and procedures as the Company prepares for its first year of being SOX 404(b) compliant after IPO. It will take someone with high energy and experience in dynamic environment to succeed in this role. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing memos on all technical accounting and reporting matters.
  • Monitoring and research of new GAAP and SEC pronouncements; evaluation of impact to the company; assisting in the implementation of new business, accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Providing guidance to the business, as needed on accounting-related matters.
  • Own the preparation, review, and management of quarterly and annual earnings releases, periodic SEC filings, and regulatory disclosures.
  • Own developing quarterly financial reporting calendars and project plans.
  • Working with executive management, business owners and legal in drafting SEC filings.
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of SOX, partner with outsourced SOX consulting firm Grant Thornton to complete implementation and audit.
  • Leading the development, maintenance and improvement of finance controls and procedures.
  • Developing, maintaining and updating internal controls documentation for key processes and support of audits of internal controls.
  • Driving continuous process improvement.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as the team and organization grows.

Desired skills and background for this role:

  • 6+ years’ experience in SEC Reporting and SOX positions or audit experience
  • Strong knowledge of SEC Reporting and US GAAP.
  • SOX and internal control experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stay knowledgeable about, research, and reach well-reasoned conclusions on financial reporting and disclosure issues.
  • Excellent project managerial and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to function in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and navigate areas of uncertainty.
  • Able to work independently, effectively and multi-task
  • Bachelor’s degree and active CPA license required.
